Hello and welcome to Little Strawberries Nursery School!

We are a long-standing nursery who burst onto the scene nearly 21 years ago. Hannah opened the nursery on the birth of her daughter Ellie, we are a very homely feeling setting who are like a big family. Our parents even call us “The Strawberry Family”.

The setting offers a range of different rooms that are adapted to the different age groups. Our family groups are Jelly Babies (6 weeks to 2 years old), Jelly Tots (2 years to 3 years old) and Jelly Beans (3 years old to 5 years old).

We offer a setting that allows your child to grow in their own individual way, in a bright and friendly environment with long standing staff, who treat each child as their own.

We are all qualified staff, DBS checked and all hold Paediatric First Aid Certificates.

Jelly Babies

6 weeks – 2 years

Welcome to the Jelly Babies room!

In this room we work on a 1:3 ratio, we are a highly qualified and specialised team who absolutely love our job. The room leader Sam leads a wonderful team of four staff who have years of experience working with our under two’s.

The room is split into two areas one half is a soft and carpeted area which also homes a ball pool that the under 2’s love to jump in and throwing the balls out! Our lino area is fabulous for messy play such as slime! We also eat on this side of the room; this allows us to drop things on the floor whilst we are learning to feed ourselves. We have low chairs for our children to sit in so that they are at the same level as our children at the table allowing for socialisation between all the children, there are also no adult chairs in here either!

When it comes to snuggling down to have a snooze, we have a dedicated sleep room where we have a range of sleeping pods such as cots, bouncers and Moses basket with all new sensory lights!

When it comes to outdoor play we have our own dedicated area which is safe, secure and shaded allowing us to be able to explore in all weathers!

Jelly Tots

2 – 3 years

Welcome to the Jelly Tots room!

In this room we work on a 1:4 ratio, we are a highly qualified and specialised team who absolutely adore our job. The room leader Sammy leads a wonderful team of four staff who have years of experience working with our 2–3-year-olds.

We are very lucky to have two rooms to host our two to three year olds, one half of the toddler unit is messy play where we love nothing more then to splash about in our brand new water tray. We also really enjoy mark making on our large chalk board on the wall! In the other half we can practice our cooking skills in the role play kitchen, who knows we may have the next top chef!

When it comes to eating this is a very social affair, we all sit around the table, have a conversation with our peers and key person.
We are a lively room that enjoy going out and exploring the garden.

Jelly Beans

3 – 5 years

Welcome to the Jelly Beans room!

In this room we work on a 1:8 ratio, we are a highly qualified and fun loving team who absolutely embrace our job. The room leader Jackie leads a super team of four staff who have years of experience working with our 3–5-year-olds.

We are very lucky to have five rooms to host our three to five year olds! We have a creative zone known as the purple room this has sand, water, and our personal favourite paint! We also have our real-life role play in this room and this allows us to dress up or cook our favourite meal. As we walk through, we find our calm and tranquil green room in here you can find our magic fairy tree which sits alongside our tepee space for one. This room is allocated for small table top activities that can be enjoyed independently or with a key person. Then we move through to our orange room, this hosts the technology area where children have access to child safe IPads (these are limited to 10 minutes per child per day). We are also very lucky to have a dedicated dining room within the Pre School unit which allows children to understand how things will be when they leave us to go to school. This once again is a very social affair; self-service is also encouraged to create that independence!

We also embrace our school readiness program for our children we practice handwriting, phonics and counting skills! We have strong links with local primary schools and liaise with them to ensure that our children are ready for their next step.
